David Aylward
As the son of the owner, David has been around the business almost as long as Kay and has worked in the shop since it was located in the basement of his parent’s home. David has his B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) from Grenfell Campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. His creativity shines through in his graphic design. David, who posses a ‘jack of all trades’ ability, along with his experience around the shop and his work experience in the print press industry in Alberta, brings a lot to the table. Along with graphic design, David does most of the finishing work, maintains and repairs the equipment. David operates the shop when Kay is out of the office.
It is hard to know what David might be working on at any given time, as he moves around from graphic design, to painting, to sculpture and back again, based on what might inspire him next. You can always see David’s artwork up on display at Aylward’s Designs.
